FAQ

If you receive a question that’s not listed below, email us at WindyCityIndieMusic@gmail.com.

What is Our City of Neighbors?

It is a virtual concert featuring Chicago established and emerging artists to be livestreamed on YouTube Thursday, April 30, 7-8p CST.

The link to the livestream will be available at www.windycityindie.com.

What is Windy City Indie?

Windy City Indie is a brand new, fan-supported initiative that has grown out of the pandemic. To spotlight mad Chicago talent across an array of musical genres, Windy City Indie is producing “Our City of Neighbors.” This virtual concert is Windy City’s inaugural effort to support independent musicians by drawing attention to their work, which is continuing in force in spite of the current shut-down of in-person performance.

Do you have a financial goal for the fundraiser?

We hope to raise $100,000 during the event, which will be matched by Chicago donors.

Where will the money go?

100% of the donations will be split between the four community based organizations listed above.

Metropolitan Family Services has generously agreed to act as the fiscal sponsor of the event. All donations will be made through their website.

Will the artists be compensated?

Yes, all artists have been offered compensation for their contributions to this event. Some artists have decided to donate their fee back to the cause.

What are your calls-to-action for this event?

Our main goal is to raise money for four front-line organizations supporting Chicago’s first responders.

Also, we want people to take time to get to know emerging artists, as well as hear from some beloved, established artists. the Chicago is filled with great artists across multiple genres and we want this concert to represent them.

Oh, and what's the hashtag?
